sE Electronics V Kick Dynamic Percussion Instrument Microphone for Drums and Bass

Designed primarily for kick drums, floor toms, and electric basses, the sE Electronics V Kick is a dynamic microphone with a supercardioid polar pattern. It’s meant to be quite versatile, with four different tonalities thanks to two switches mounted on the back of the microphone. One switch controls the frequency content of the midrange, while the other changes the high-frequency capture of the V Kick.

Thanks to these switches, you can get a rounded midrange with a smoother top end, a rounded midrange with a defined top end, or the complete opposite: a rounded midrange with a smoother top end, or a rounded midrange with a softer top end. This allows you to use the mic with all kinds of kick drum styles, from big band jazz to aggressive metal. The same goes for bass guitars. You can tailor this mic for something that complements a round, vintage Ampeg tone or a more modern rear pickup style.

These switches are located on the back of the microphone and this helps with live sound functionality. With different bands changing their instruments between sets, this microphone can prove useful in keeping changeover time to a minimum in clubs.

At the heart of the V Kick is its DMC7 SB capsule, which uses an aluminum voice coil for transient-rich sound and a bottom end that extends low enough to record the fundamental frequencies of kick drums and bass guitars. Its supercardioid pickup pattern ensures little bleed, helping you isolate the sound source from other drums or cymbals. The capsule is suspended within the microphone to keep it decoupled from mechanical vibrations, bumps, jolts, and other issues.
The microphone's all-metal housing is rugged, making it suitable for live use on the go. A gold-plated XLR connector helps provide a reliable signal connection. With a windscreen built into the microphone, it's already internally protected against winds, plosives, and extraneous noise. A black windscreen and knurled nut for third-party mounting kits are included.

sE Electronics V Beat Dynamic Microphone for Percussion Instruments

Designed for use with snares and toms, the sE Electronics V Beat is a dynamic supercardioid microphone. It offers a low-profile design that easily attaches to the edge of drum heads. Not only does the microphone provide naturalistic, high-precision audio capture, it also keeps cables out of the drummer’s line of sight and makes it easy for them to maneuver around the kit without fear of accidentally hitting a mic head.

sE Electronics V CLAMP Quick Mount Drum Microphone Clamp

The V CLAMP from sE Electronics is a stand designed to add more flexibility when mounting drum microphones to drum heads, particularly those from the V BEAT series. The V CLAMP attaches to the rim of a snare or drum using its elastic clip, while the cylindrical metal tube allows you to move attached V series microphones in a vertical plane. With the V CLAMP, you can position the microphone further away from the drum if you want to get more air and bloom around the sound, or mic it closer. At the bottom of the rod is a small hole that you can use with a clip to organize cables.
